JOURNALISM
Though it took a long time to get there, I now realize that much of my education and work experience has been guiding me towards a career in broadcast journalism. My Political Science degree taught me how to research like a journalist, and that narratives presented to you may be different from the reality of the issue. Meanwhile my screen acting experience made me comfortable communicating in front of a camera.
I want to use those skills to present audiences with accurate, nuanced reporting that helps people understand and digest issues beyond their assumptions or biases. My goal is to tell stories that reveal both the facts and the shared humanity behind them.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to use written and spoken language as a tool to convey pressing environmental topics. From plastics and the growing concern around PFAS (“forever chemicals”) entering our bodies, to overconsumption fueling fast fashion, to renewable energy creating safer and better-paying jobs, I’m driven by finding the truth behind these issues and shaping messaging that makes them feel personal.
